Doctrinal Statement

The Holy Scriptures

We believe in the absolute authority of the Holy Scriptures. We believe the original manuscripts were given by inspiration of God and were without error. We believe the God who gave His word to man has taken upon Himself the responsibility for its preservation (Psalms 12:6-7). We believe the incorruptible and inspired word of God which cannot pass away is available to the world in the Authorized (King James) Version. This Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice, which means that we will not resort to any Greek or Hebrew texts to correct, or further explain the plain English, but will use the Bible to interpret itself.

God

We believe in one God eternally existent as the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. We believe God to be the creator and sustainer of all things, visible and invisible. We believe the universe and all that is therein to be held together by the word of His power.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be God manifest in the flesh, virgin born, without sin, crucified, risen and coming again. We believe he will receive His bride, the Church, in the air quickly, purge the nation of Israel during a period of Great Tribulation, return to judge the world, and then establish His Millennial Kingdom.

Salvation

We believe salvation is available today to all men by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through His name, apart from human works or merit of any kind. We believe that the decision to accept Christ as Savior is an act of the human will, and is not in any way forced upon an individual by God at any point in time. We firmly renounce any form of Calvinistic teaching as false doctrine designed by the devil to countervail The Great Commission given by our Lord in Matthew and Mark.

We believe that the Church Age saint who is born again as a saved child of God is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, and is sealed, taught, and comforted by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.

We believe salvation makes one a member of the universal body of Christ, literally bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh, along with all other believers in the world. We also believe that the members of this body should gather together in a local church where they may minister one to another.

The Local Church

We believe that the main ministry of the local church is first and foremost, to reprove, rebuke, and exhort the Believer by systematic teaching of the word of God in our local assembly. This teaching should be line upon line, precept upon precept, proclaiming the whole counsel of God, comparing Scripture with Scripture, studying to show ourselves approved unto God, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Believer's Responsibilities

We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to proclaim the saving gospel to all men by personal testimony and by giving of their means to finance missionary efforts.

Judgement Of The Unsaved

We believe all men rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the conscious torment of a literal lake of fire, while those receiving the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the glorious presence of God.

Separation From The World

We believe all saved men should be separate from the outward and inner ways of this world, being holy in mind and body. We believe, however, that righteousness does not come by keeping of laws and commandments but by an inner change of heart. We therefore place emphasis on the inner condition, trusting the outward appearance to follow accordingly.

Two Ordinances

We believe that water baptism is a public testimony made by the saved Christian and plays no part in salvation or making one a member of the church. We believe that the Lord's Supper was ordained by God for the purpose of remembering His sacrifice on the cross. We believe that all saved individuals are commanded to partake, but that they are also commanded to examine themselves, so that they do not partake unworthily.

Separation Of Church And State

We believe that any attempt by the state to interfere with the working of the church or home is a violation of God's purpose for government.

The Body of Christ

We believe in the priesthood of all believers and decry any fashion of exalting one member of the body of Christ, or one gift of the Spirit above another.

We believe that the universal church is a body of which Jesus is the head, and the local church is a flock over which Jesus Christ is the Chief Shepherd. Thus it is not a democracy to be run by the will of its members, or a dictatorship to be run by one man, but is to conduct its temporal as well as its spiritual business in strict accordance to the word of God alone. We believe that the NT clearly teaches that Bishops, Elders, and Pastors are given oversight of the local church, and Deacons are elected to serve in the local assembly.

Church Conduct

We are traditional in worship, singing old-time hymns and gospel music. We are not a social club providing entertainment to get anyone to come or stay. We believe music is designed for the glory of God, and edification of the believer, and is not nor ever should be viewed as a performance. We believe that Christian fellowship and friendship is vital for a healthy church, and so we encourage interaction as a church family. We view each saved person in attendance as a brother or sister in Christ, and expect everyone to treat one another with charity, and humility, refraining from gossip, and divisive behavior. Members of the local church are defined as those people who are saved, regularly attend, and are not walking disorderly.
